What is the ruling on masturbation during the day of Ramadan?

Answer

Masturbation is prohibited (haram) both during and outside of Ramadan. If a person masturbates during the fasting hours—whether by hand, a device, or any other method—it invalidates the fast. This ruling is agreed upon by the four major schools of Islamic jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’I, and Hanbali) and is clearly supported by scholarly consensus.
