What if a woman misses more than one Ramadan due to pregnancy and then breastfeeding?

Question

What if a woman misses more than one Ramadan due to pregnancy and then breastfeeding?

Answer

If a woman was pregnant during one Ramadan, and breastfeeding the next, and was unable to make up the fasts between the two, there is no sin upon her. She should make up the fasts as soon as she is able.
However, if she delayed making them up without a valid excuse, and two Ramadans have passed, then according to the majority of scholars, she must:
1.    Make up the missed fasts, and
2.    Pay fidyah (feeding a poor person for each day delayed beyond the first Ramadan).
