Does using vapes, nicotine pouches, chewing tobacco, cigarettes, or shisha break the fast during the day of Ramadan?

Question

Does using vapes, nicotine pouches, chewing tobacco, cigarettes, or shisha break the fast during the day of Ramadan?

Answer

Yes, all of these substances break the fast. Whether it’s vaping, using nicotine pouches, chewing tobacco, smoking cigarettes, or using shisha, they all introduce substances into the body through the mouth and throat. As noted by scholars including Ibn Shihab, these actions invalidate the fast and should be strictly avoided during fasting hours.
